Gibraltar is a British overseas territory at the southern tip of the Iberian Peninsula, and became a British Crown colony in 1830. Visit ancient caves and historic fortifications – and keep an eye on your belongings, as the Rock's roughly 250 Barbary macaques roam freely! From here you can also take a ferry to Morocco.

Río Chíllar

The river walk up the Río Chíllar near Nerja is a fantastic hike. Bring light shoes or water shoes – you walk in the river itself, surrounded by water, small waterfalls and places to swim. The route is up to 8 km each way, but you can turn around whenever you like.

Ronda

Ronda is a small town in the province of Málaga, considered the cradle of bullfighting. The town is split in two by the 120-metre-deep El Tajo gorge and has wonderful views over Andalusia. Ronda sits on a plateau about 750 metres above sea level.
